Research Paper

The Scientific Research Paper – DRAFT Due September 26, 2018 [printed]

                                                        FINAL Due October 17, 2018  [printed or on google docs]

This is research of basic scientific concepts related to the experimental topic. Do not address the experiment in this part of the paper, but the science behind your project.  This should be a minimum of 2 pages for 6th grade, 2.5 for 7th grade, and 3 pages for 8th grade. The research paper should be typed, double-spaced, using font size 12 Times New Roman, and standard one-inch margins. The following parts should be included in the research paper in the following order stapled in upper left corner - binders are cumbersome - please just staple the paper.

 ·        Title Page - Center the project title, Bottom right corner: your name, date, class period 

·         Research Information – This is the scientific research report on your topic.

·         Bibliography in MLA format- you are required to have a minimum of:

o    6th grade (ALL) - 5+ sources and the following

o    7th grade (ALL) - 6+ sources and the following

Sources of scientific research include books, magazines, newspapers, and oral interviews.  The following are not considered credible sources (do not cite them in your bibliography): Wikipedia, Google answers, askyahoo.com, ehow.com, WikiAnswers, etc.  Yahoo answers - unresearched sites - public forums, opinions, sources not based on research.  

.edu   .org   .gov   are sites that tend to be research-based

Save your research information paper on your computer, google docs, or thumb drive so you can make corrections for your Final Research Paper.
